Remix Your Own Eno

Posted in Uncategorized by Simon Bisson on March 31, 2006

Brian Eno and David Byrne are going to be re-releasing a remastered version of the classic My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts (with seven extra tracks) – but this time it’ll also come with a Creative Commons licence that will allow you to make your own remixes, and a download site…

My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts came out in 1981. Over the last decades, hundreds of artists in genres ranging from DJs to alternative to electronic have all borrowed from its ideas and claimed its influence. It is now being re-issued in a beautiful new package, with extensive liner notes and photos, and featuring 7 previously unreleased tracks from the original album and a film by influential artist Bruce Conner.

The remix site isn’t quite ready yet, but…

Sea Otter (Crop)

We spotted this little chap asleep in the harbour at Moss Landing. The sea was wild – so the harbour was a good choice for a quiet nap. Moss Landing is the home of the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s research fleet, so it probably felt quite safe.

More pictures of it here.

Dinner tonight at Abacus – a rather wonderful tasting menu that ran the gamut from Japan to France. Well worth visiting for the red curry lobster scallion shots alone…

Back to the Bay area tomorrow.
