Things you see…

Posted in Uncategorized by Simon Bisson on February 15, 2006

The other day somewhere in Lincolnshire, powering up the A1 to see Richard Thompson in concert in Gateshead, we saw a loop of smoke in the sky slowly fading away.

“It’ll have been the Red Arrows” I said to .

Just then a tight formation of shining jets rose up out of the cloud into the sun, trailing white smoke.

Beautiful and unexpected.

Airshow, Milwaukee, 1989, watching acrobatic biplanes lazily loop about.

I say to my date, “that was nice, but they should follow that with a few fighter jets on a low pass with afterburners on.”

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR! (that was a pair of F-15’s passing a couple of hundred feet off the deck over us. They’d get halfway to Madison turning around for the next pass.)

    I was very happy.

Damn, I heard them yesterday–wish I’d gone outside to look.
