    Good question… I suppose it ranks back to the odd victorian belief that ladies are the more gentle sex.

    I’d say that it’s not so much the ladies getting delicate terms as it’s the ladies getting delicate fonts. “Lavatory” and “Wharepaku” sound pretty brutal, and “Loo” is somewhat crude.
